Transformer Output Voltage Imbalance

(1) Poor grounding of the neutral line. Corrective Action: Ensure the neutral line ground resistance is ≤ 4 Ω.

 

(2) Uneven load distribution. Corrective Action: Rationally distribute the three-phase load.

 

(3) Ferromagnetic resonance occurring within the system, causing a three-phase voltage imbalance. Corrective Action: Engage professionals to conduct testing and diagnosis, and install harmonic suppression equipment.

 

What should be done about oil leakage in transformers?

(1) The various gaskets on the oil tank gradually age, leading to loose fastening bolts and resulting in oil leakage. *Corrective Action:* Inspect and maintain the transformer every six months; tighten the corresponding bolts. For transformers in service for over ten years, consider replacing the sealing rings.

 

(2) Overload operation causes the oil temperature to rise, leading to thermal expansion of the oil volume, which may result in oil leakage or oil ejection. *Corrective Action:* Select an appropriate transformer capacity; if necessary, increase the capacity.

 

(3) Defects exist in the welded joints (the probability of this occurring is low, as sealing tests are typically completed during factory testing).

 

How to Address Abnormal Transformer Oil Levels?

(1) Low temperatures causing a drop in the oil level. Note: Refill the oil before returning the transformer to service.

 

(2) Repeated oil sampling during maintenance without subsequent replenishment. Corrective Action: After completing transformer maintenance, conduct a thorough inspection to verify that all issues have been resolved before energizing the unit.

 

(3) Deformation of the oil tank casing. Corrective Action: Ensure the use of high-quality transformer casings.

 

(4) Oil leakage occurring but remaining undetected for an extended period. Corrective Action: Conduct semi-annual inspections of the transformer, designating this as a critical item within the maintenance assessment protocol.

 

Excessive Transformer Noise

(1) The transformer is operating under overload conditions. Remedial Measure: Select an appropriate transformer capacity; if necessary, increase the capacity.

 

(2) Transformer fasteners are loose, causing resonance. Remedial Measure: Conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the transformer every six months, designating this as a key performance assessment item.

 

(3) The transformer iron core is loose. Remedial Measure: Conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the transformer every six months, designating this as a key performance assessment item.

 

Gas Relay Operation

(1) Gas generation within the transformer. Corrective Action: Inspect the transformer; once it is confirmed to be free of faults, vent the gas before returning the unit to service.

 

(2) Insufficient oil level, resulting in a false trip. Corrective Action: Replenish the oil level to the standard position on the sight glass (typically the 270 mark).
